So you’ve finally gotten a personal trainer with Trainer Pro – nice! You are one step closer to reaching your personal fitness goals and getting the body of your dreams. This doesn’t happen over night and requires dedication, commitment and time, but how much time? Understanding how many personal training sessions each person needs is a unique formula based on your goals, your needs, how much time you have to dedicate to this, and how much you are willing to pay. A personal trainer will help you will learn proper form, lift appropriate weights and do cardio as needed, and they will help keep you accountable.
Understanding Your Fitness Goals
The first step is understanding what your fitness goals are. Are you someone that is out of shape and is looking to just get active? Are you someone who wants 6 pack abs like Thor? Or are you someone who can’t seem to put on muscle no matter how hard you try? Whatever it is, when you hire an in person personal trainer or an online personal trainer, you will need to work out with them at least once a week to help get you on the right track. While receiving personal training at least once a week is a good start, seeing a trainer 2, 3 or 4 times a week will help you achieve your goals faster.
If you are looking for personal training for seniors and are wondering if a senior will need more or less training sessions, the answer is again that it depends on what their goals are. If their fitness levels are low, a gradual slow start with a trainer once or twice a week might be the right approach. As the person gets more comfortable with fitness, the personal trainer may recommend more fitness sessions as necessary to meet the individual’s personal goals. Personal trainers at Trainer Pro specialize in many areas, including specifically personal training with seniors.
How Often Should You See Your Personal Trainer
The number of times you should see your personal trainer also depends on the length of your personal training sessions. If you prefer to do quick 30 minute sessions, you will need to do them more often to see results. If you do longer personal training sessions such as 60 minutes or 90 minutes, you may need to go less often. In addition, you can start with more sessions to learn about form and develop a routine, and once you get the hang of it you can decrease the number of sessions per week. We recommend seeing your personal trainer on average about 3 times a week to ensure growth.
Receiving personal training in person or online, at least a few times a week will help you see your results faster. However, if you want to start slow, a minimum of one session a week will be beneficial. There is no black and white approach for how many times you need to see a personal trainer. However, on average we recommend 3 personal training sessions per week to help you stay consistent, work on your form, and achieve optimal results.
In addition, we recommend being mindful of what you are doing in between personal training sessions. It’s important to stay active where possible, maintain a healthy diet through holistic nutrition, and ensure you get proper sleep to help you meet your fitness goals.
